Economic crisis hits home

My son- in law was layed off last Friday. He is an Accountant in a major firm. He made it through the busy season and watched many co- workers let go. He thought he was safe.

Not so.

The kids have such a good attitude. He received a 2 months severance and babygirl1 provides the health care for the family. They have been financially responsible, have no credit card debit and both cars that are paid for. They will be fine but I worry. It's my job as a Mom.

In this tough economic times, I feel so lucky. I just got ANOTHER job, not losing my only job.

I hope hubby finds a job soon.

Well you know that I feel your pain. I'm happy, after 10 months, to finally be back to work.

I hope things work out ok for them. It's a scary position to be in.

That is really scary but I've seen some great things happen in spite of the layoffs and all of that. I hope that he finds a job soon.

Sorry to hear about the downsizing. My husband has been through that 4 times and I have had 4 companies that I worked for go out of business. And one doctor I worked for died. So we won't blame him. It never gets easier.

I'm sure they'll be fine. Sounds like they are at least in a good position to deal with one income for awhile. A lot of people would be devastated by it....

Seems they're ultimately in a good position and they'll be okay. What a drag, though. I do hope he finds something soon, and maybe it will be even better!
